Costumes From Your Closet 2013-11-29-11:19:52

If you remember I had these little costumes in Babiekins 2nd issue (which came out in Aug just for you for Halloween) that could easily be made from things you might have in your closet. The clothes I used are designer clothes (because one, they are super cute but two since they are a little more expensive you should use them every chance you get)! You could easily remake them with like colors from things your children have at home already!
To find out where to get the different items go to Babiekinsmag.com
These little illustrations were designed by the talented Lori Joy Smith (Love her!)
Get The Look For Less
1. Pirate:
Stiped shirts, baggy pants can easily be purchased at a thirft shop. Take it home and make the pants shaggy by ripping the bottoms up a bit. You could also tea stain a white and black striped shirt in some places to make it look a little dirty (kids love to help with this). You can easily purchase a little parrot to sit on your little pirates shoulder and be sure to have him wear some bling! What pirate is without his treasure?
2. Little Red
A dress (any color will do), red cape and basket! Chances are you have them lying around the house and if not always check out your thrift shop! You probably have a dress that would work for this outfit but the cape is so important! A great cape would be this one by Bobo Choses(it’s a little more orange than red but would definatly do- especially because after your kid can walk around in style after all the Halloween fun is over) or you can make this one!
Basket- Thrift shops have these for almost nothing! I love to get them for birthday parties and cutom make it into something magical for the little girl that will recieve it.I love to put vintage millinery flowers ontop, vintage jewlery and nice velvet fabric and lace. This could make a really cool costume accessory and also be something your kiddo will want to play with for a while!
3.Flamingo
Pink, Pink, Pink! Get a frilly tutu (or make one -here’s a great tutorial), a pink shirt (helps if it has a flamingo on it- get an iron on), a feather headpiece or oversized bow and some black and white leggings! Super fun and definatly unique!
